Varun Dhawan is all set to make his mark as this restive, revengeful (middle aged) man. He has shed his lover boy, chocolaty image for this role where he looks all raw.Here are a few posters from the film.
Badlapur tells the story of a man who bides time for 15 years before he is able to take revenge for all the wrongs the villain has done. What we can make out from the story is that he was a happy man, madly in love with Yami's character once upon a time, then fate struck and the villain (assuming that's Nawazuddin Siddiqui here) killed her or raped+killed her or something like that. He bid his time and then finally he is able to take revenge.
Apparently, Varun plays a very intense character in this film. His acting skills and presentation of character which weren't bad to begin with, seem to have improved further. The movie has excellent songs. The song "Jee Karda" and "Jeena Jeena" have gained immense popularity.
